GSHAS #1
Great game last night!! We exacted some revenge on that team from Sunday by mercying them 17-5 (I was thankful for the short outing as it was cold and windy). Though they helped us out by making lots of errors, we hit the ball on the ground and made them make some plays. Nice work with the bats and in the field!! Chaz made several great plays including a nice stab on a hard liner and a great stop to keep a ball in play that I threw from the OF in between second and third (no one plays secird?). Chris W. smacked some hard line drives but hit into some hard luck (though I am not sure I would have wanted to catch those balls on a cold night). Chris D. had some nice hits and showed some hustle by taking an extra base on the LF. The bats were hot up and down the line-up: first the Jo(h)ns, then the Chrises, the Wus, and on down the line. I remember multiple hits from lots of folks!! That was lots of ball in a few days so rest up for next week!!
Thanks to John C. for flying in all the way from Portland to play with us the past few games. It was great having him back- just like old times!!
Now on for the count. This is the cumulative count including the things from this week that I can remember. Correct me if I’m wrong or missed something via the comments and I’ll update. I’m just making up the scoring system a bit but figure that good fielding efforts should get you -0.5 (i.e. for being involved in a DP, saving an error for someone else, etc.)- let me know what you think.

After talking to John B. last night, my count is as follows:
-0.5: Throwing home after everybody on the team was yelling 2nd base
-0.5: Throwing over John B.’s head when trying to hit the cutoff man allowing the runner on 1st to go to second
+0.5: Extra hustle taking an extra base on the LF
So, my cumulative total for the year is: -0.5
