GSHAS #3
Another great outing in a big victory over Ten Guys Named Roy!! I lost count but I think that score was 15-3. The bats started a bit slow, but Chris D. really got us going with a smash off the fence in LF. In a quest for the cycle, Chris went yard on his next AB. Then the other team threw in the towel and tried to intentionally walk him- but Chris got a hit anyway (though I think he should have hit the ball that was rolled). The next time around they didn’t even throw the pitches to intentionally walk the bases loaded. But Josh made them pay with a hard single- nice!! The defense was solid again. Chris D. and KC teamed up for a nice OF assist. Chris threw a laser from left which bounced off the runner and then KC. KC quickly corralled the ball and tagged the runner who slid but never touched home. Chris D. also pegged another of their runners on a play at home (reminded me of the pickle game we used to play as kids)- that’ll make them twice about running. Nate and Jon L. combined on a nice force out at second as the runner (Go Joe!! Go Joe!!) slid hard (with the cleats a bit high in my opinion- we’ll remember that for next time). Jon L. made a nice play ranging far to his left from second- would have made SportsCenter if Ben had decided to cover first. Perhaps Ben was amazed that he had thrown a strike? Or was backing up the rubber? Or thought it was pitcher’s hand?
Now on for the count. It is all about Ben this week!! Ben managed to accrue +3 points by getting thrown out at second on a base hit to right, walking three guys (including walking in a run), and neglecting to cover first base. This is the cumulative count including the things from this week that I can remember. Correct me if I’m wrong or missed something via the comments and I’ll update.
Ben W. (4) [+1 for getting thrown out, +1 for three walks, +1 for not covering first]
John B. (2.5)
Jon L. (2)
Dan W. (1)
Chris D. (0.5) [-0.5 for HR, -0.5 for OF assist, did you hit for the cycle?]
Chaz (0.5)
KC (0.5) [+1 for K, -0.5 for head’s up tag on Chris’ OF assist]
Charlie (-0.5)
Pete (-0.5)
Nate, per your request, here is a link to the Michigan Classics page that has the team schedules.

Ben- you do know that it is bad to be at the top of this list (well, at least bad for you but good for the rest of us). Don’t worry- you won’t stay at the top forever. One more point and you get reset to 0 (after you buy, of course).

About GoJo (Go Joe!), let me play the infield next time we play them, if they hit it to me, I’ll just hit him as he’s running to first. It’ll be an accident
