Star Wars Episode III

We went and saw “Revenge of the Sith” this weekend (sorry Matt and Anne- we couldn’t wait). I won’t get into any of the specifics in the post so as not to spoil it for anyone who hasn’t seen it but feel free to post comments for discussion. I thought this movie was much better than the first two prequels- lots more action, less cutesy stuff, and more links to Episodes IV-VI. The dialogue was a bit stilted, but it is a Star Wars/Lucas movie after all. And, of course, Yoda rocks (the best character is he)!! Liz did notice one inconsistency…read comments for more (note comments may contain SPOILERS!!).

Well, I was a megageek and saw Episode III the Thursday evening it opened. Okay, it would have been geekier had I showed up at the theater around 12:01 am sporting my Greedo costume. Seeing it as early as I did still places me in some geek category.
I whole-heartedly recommend Revenge of the Sith. After I and II, I had pretty much written off Lucas’ opus. Too much CG, racist characterizations, bad acting and lame plot are enough to bring even the most devoted fan down.
However, like Anakin, Lucas redeems himself. The dialogue is still a bit cheesy, but the CG is kept in check and the plot is well done. I believed Anakin’s slow drift to the dark side. There is also a continuity that takes you toward A New Hope with a feeling of anticipation.
So, without spoiling the story too much (by the way…Anakin becomes some character named Darth Vader), many questions are answered about Episodes IV, V, VI. Do yourself a favor and see Revenge of the Sith on the big screen. You may not love everything about it. All of us can be a bit critical when it comes to the Holy Trilogy. But, I promise that you won’t feel a great disturbance in the force like you may have after I and II.
