GSHAS Fall #5
Nice effort against the Roundtree (i.e. Deluxe Drapery) team last night!! They definitely brought their A-team out and though we played well, they just outhit us (I think the score was roughly 20-10). We took advantage of their 8-man start (hey, I like only having one IF on the right side) and put up some runs early. But, they hit a few big bombs and had several 2-out rallies. Our bats were pretty solid up and down the line-up. Chris W. had a big blast to left that hit off the fence. The gloves were solid as well. Brian and Charlie did a good job of keeping the hitters in check. Chaz made some nice plays at second though there weren’t a lot of IF plays. Jon L. had a great heads-up play to tag the runner at third on a dribbler up the third base line. Lots of big plays in the OF- Danny, Ron, and Pete all had great running catches but the plays of the game were made by KC who made a nice sliding catch in LC and then went back and stole a HR. Great work!! Thanks to our intrepid fans Andrea, Liz, and Chris’ family for braving the chilly temps to cheer us on.
OK- on to the scoring. I’ve tried to put in the things that I remember but feel free to add/edit via the comments and I’ll update. Any other points that should be awarded- we haven’t had any cold beverages in a while?
