GSHAS Preseason Softball Update
After a rigorous off-season training regimen (independently administered) and a few random practices thrown in when the weather allowed, the softball season officially starts next week. As usual, we’ll carry over the Kangaroo Court points from last year. In case you forgot, they are shown below:
Chris W. (5.5)
Ron (3.5)
Chris D. (3)
Todd (2.5)
Jon L. (1.5)
Chaz (1.5)
Dan W. (1)
Ben W. (1)
John B. (0)
Jesse (0)
Tony (0)
Charlie (0)
Chris W. is up first and will be providing beverages after next week’s game.
I’ve recently added the ability to conduct polls on the site. So, we’ll have to think of some unique ways to combine polling with the points system and overall softball fun (and I don’t want to hear from you ISR people that my polls are not statistically significant). I’m open for any ideas you might have on the polling or any additions, modifications, etc. to the points system- feel free to leave a comment.
Here is the first poll of the year inspired by last night’s practice.

There is no doubt this deserves a point! By the way, I think we should retroactively assess John B a point for yelling “got room” to me both before and *as* I was running into the (rusty, dirty) fence at Southeast!

Can I vote twice?

Jon L- if I didn’t assess myself a point for that error, I surely should have (or at least offered to pay for the tetanus booster). No excuses!! In case you were wondering, this issue came up again as “someone” yelled “got room” and Chris D. went tumbling over the OF fence.
Chris- the system should detect multiple votes and disallow them. Technically, you might be able to fool the system and vote twice via different computers, etc. Obviously, I’d discourage multiple votes from the same person (this isn’t American Idol) as it casts doubt on the final results.

ok. I won’t try to swing the votes in my favor, but it appears that the majority think that it is a point worthy offense.
p.s. the person in question was Todd
