GSHAS Fall #5, #6
Nice work last night in taking two games. The first game was a 15-5 mercy while the second game was a hard fought, come from behind 14-10 win. Except for a few innings at the start of the second game, we hit the ball well. Jesse hit a towering blast against the wind in the first game and Chris W. followed with a big HR in the second game. The defense was great all night. Tony had a ton of balls hit to him, most hard and to his backhand, and had a great diving stop and a nice stab on a ball that was virtually past him. Nice work!!
Per last week’s proposal, those who attended the BGBG/GSHAS outing last weekend have a point amnesty this week (although negative points will still be awarded). I know that will save me at least +2!! Anyhow, for those who did not attend, please self-assess as required (I’m still waiting for OF assessments from last week too as I’m sure it wasn’t just IF and P that accumulated points). As always feel free to comment, correct, add, etc. Also, since we have 7:30/8:45 games next week, perhaps Ron could provide some post-game beverages?

I picked up two points last week for dropping a couple of Jon L’s throws from third. I also picked up two points this week for missing a ground ball and my horrible third base coaching. +4.

Despite Tony assessing himself some points, I just wanted to say that his bat was as fierce as his glove this past Wednesday. He went both ways (not like that) and drove the ball hard (not like that). Tony was my player of the week.

Tony, thanks for the assessments. I don’t think any points were deserved for the throws last week. But, let’s do +2 for this week.
Chaz, totally agreed. I doubt we win that second game without Tony’s plays on D. Great work.
Also, I forgot to give Jon L. -0.5 for that awesome play where he charged the slow roller and gunned to first. Solid!! I’ve added it now.

I gave up a walk, early in the first game. Once again, to a lefty.

Yikes, I can’t remember the outfield points from two weeks ago. Maybe give us all a point?

Chris W. was definitely slacking on his OF point assessments. He did send me a message this week with some points but due to point amnesty, the only points not asssessed are ones for him. I’ve added +2 for a fly ball he missed plus the throw at home. So, we’ll be enjoying lots of beverages soon.
As for two weeks ago, I suppose we can’t assess if no one can remember. But, we’ll definitely be more diligent in keeping up from now on.
