GSHAS Fall #3, #4
Excellent work in another DH sweep. First game was a mercy and the second was a nice 14-5 win. Jesse used up our 3 HRs in the first game and Todd and Tony sprayed line drives all over the field. Chaz made a triumphant return with some big hits too. Gloves were pretty solid all night. We had one rough inning but otherwise made play after play. Chris W. had a great diving catch in the OF and the infield got lots of work, particularly Jon L. at 3rd who snagged lots of balls going down the line. Nice!!
Here are the updated points. Wow, lots of points this week, both positive and negative. Be sure to correct/add via the comments as I’m sure I lost track of something. Hopefully Ben’s flu-like symptoms will subside so that he can bring beverages next week. Ben: FYI- the team voted to give you another point but don’t worry- you’ll reset to zero after the beverages.

Tack on another point for me for my errant cutoff throw that allowed a run to score. Oh, and can I get -0.25 or something for the fly ball I caught with my bare hand? Just kidding…

Two hypothetical point questions:
1) If I had grounded into a triple play, how many points would that have been? I only ask because my I hit that ball sharply and DIRECTLY to the 3B bag with runners on 1st and 2nd, and it clearly could have been a 5-4-3 triple play (especially with my tweaked knee). . .
2) How many points would it have been if my hit up the middle had been just a few inches higher and gotten Ron? Would the location on his person where it hit him matter? If not, it really should. . . (By the way: sorry about that Ron!)

Add another point to me for a fielding error from the first game. I should have charged that one instead of waiting on it.
Also, show yourself some love in the comments, John. You played well in the field, facing a lot of chances, and you came up big at the plate.

I left a runner on third with less than 2 outs, so +1 me…

Thanks to everyone who corrected and self-reported. I think I have updated all the points appropriately.
@Todd: The fundamentally sound use of two hands, while not earning -0.25, did keep you from earning +1. Good work!!
@Jon: I don’t think we have a triple play rule. Never had one. But, it seems like +1 would be enough. And let’s hope we never have to assess points for hitting a baserunner in the “special place.”
@Chaz: Thanks!!
