Nice start to the softball season tonight. Unfortunately we hit too much to get our 5 innings in before getting washed out. So, let’s take this opportunity to revisit the polls. Feel free to provide justification for your vote via the comments.
Should points from tonight's rainout count?

Turns out it’s not clear that tonight’s game is really a rain-out. Jeremy (our umpire) told me there are three possibilities - play the game over from the start; resume with us leading 18-3; other team conceding rather than going through the motions of a restart.

I am torn on the vote. It seems like one of those zen questions: if a game never officially happened, did Ben actually have a 3-point at bat? I am inclined to vote “no,” but am on the fence enough that I will check back on the comments before making my decision. . .

Of course the points count…as should all of the other stats. We only play ten+ games a season, so every point matters! (Unless I happen to have the aforementioned 3-point at bat.) By the way, my ‘yes’ vote has no basis in logic or philosophy…just pure greed.

My vote for “no” is understandably biased. =)

I vote Yes for several reasons. First, I agree with Chaz- all points are good points since that means more beverages. Second, the achievement of a 3 point AB should not be washed out by a little rain (it might be a first after all!!). Third, if the game turns out to count, then we will have rightfully recorded the points before they have been forgotten.
